Dog/puppy training for children

1. Keep sessions very short

No more than 5 minutes once per day for 3 y/o child

2. Control movement

Keep hands and body still.

2. Keep voice low pitched

Just keep reminding child "low and slow"

3. Regardless of stage of training for pup/dog, keep child training commands minimalist

4. For young children, teach "yes!" and how to drop treat between pup/dog's paws or (for very young children), adult can deliver treat

5. After training, have child feed pup/dog (in a bowl not hand delivered) to reinforce heirarchy

6. Once "sit" is taught, train "shake", because every child loves to be able to command a "trick"
